movie marathons?
Do you mean lots of movies in..... say, 24 hours?
Maybe something like..... The Godfather trilogy or all of the Star War or Batman films????

Our family have done the Godfather film marathons....

I'm not understanding what you mean by a lot of folks doing marathons....
Most folks do Binge these days.

I personally love to get together on IMDb.... now, hopefully MC for the Twilight Zone Marathons on SyFy. They are aired during 24 hour periods during 4th of July and New Year's Eve each year. We always have a thread where we can talk about the episodes while watching. It's fun! I hope that you may join in on the 4'th if you like the show.....

How about, instead of movie marathons, we do movie sprints? It's like watching movies but constantly in fast forward so typical 2 hours movie can be finished in 10 or so minutes. I invented this!

I haven't done a movie marathon in a long time. I am too busy binge watching tv series.

I used to watch like two movies a day. I've cut down to at least one movie per week. And since I am studying to be a screenwriter, I have increased my movie watching to a minimum of two movies per week and reading one spec script a week. The shooting script I am presently reading is Avatar. A lot of scenes were cut for the movie. I think they were good choices to edit. I'm not sure who the script analyst was but they did a good job at editing scenes that slowed down the story.
