my rant about the Ricki Lake show

Anyone remember the Ricki Lake show in the 90s?.

Well looking back in hindsight, that show was definently pro social justice movement. Her talk show was doing that way before the likes of youtube, twitter and tumblr came along and bred such people.

Whenever she had shows where the topic was about "If my bf does not loose the weight he has gained, i will leave him" or gf instead of bf, but the slim person in the relationship started saying stuff like "when i met him, he weighed only 170lbs, now since he has become addicted to eating excess junkfood, he now weighs 230lbs and im sorry to say it, i find him less attractive physiclly, and i want him to stop doing that and get his weight back down again" , the audience would boo the person. If she doesnt find him as physicly attractive as she use to, because he's 60lbs fatter, she cant help that can she???.

I mean "body positive" and "fat shaming" are common SJW tags arnt they?, and herself and her audiance were doing this way before the common sjw places on the internet. Sometimes Ricky Lake would defend them with the most stupidest lines sometimes, like "oh come on, i know her butt and legs look different now because of her weight gain, but its her face that really counts isent it?, and thats still the same". What???, so if Nina Dobrev went and gained 60lbs of fat, her face would look exactly the same?, umm no it wouldent.

Or on shows where it was the guy who is the slim party, he would say things like "its not just the sex, its other things too. Her health isnt as good, when we first started going out, we use to enjoy long romantic walks together as the sun went down, now she doesnt wanna do that anymore", and Ricki Lake would defend her by saying "well ummm maybe she just isnt into long romantic walks anymore, not everyone stays interested in the same passtimes forever" (then audience applauds and cheers)

And im sat there thinking "or.......maybe Ricki, the 2 are actually linked afterall!!. Being fatter and heavier will make walking become harder and less comfortable, and will tire you out quicker. Believe it or not, people tend to enjoy physical activity when they feel fresh but dont enjoy it when their sore achy and tired, did you ever think about that one???".

I also remember seeing another episode like this where the woman was slim but her husband was fat, and he got fat from perpetual food addiction. And guess what, Ricki Lake just totally defended the man. Trying to shame the woman because the marriage isnt unconditional. Ummm what marriage out there is totally unconditional??. And defending him by saying "oh come on, he just loves his food, whats so bad about that?". Ummm well im sure an alcoholic loves their beer, and im sure a cocaine addict loves their cocaine....real valid stance you have their Ricki!!!.

And that brings me onto my next point.....what if what the husband was addicted to was not food, but it was alchohol or drugs??, then i bet Ricki would totally be on her side, but because its food, which is also a substance when in excess, will also detriment your health and detriment a relationship or marriage. But no, cause its food and being overweight....a subject close to her heart, her stances split hairs then.

Also Ricki Lake is a hypocrite. She doesnt truly believe in what she preaches. She preaches typical SJW stuff when it comes to fatness and obesity, saying stuff like "its personality that makes relationships and is what real people are purely attracted to", but what happend when she got divorced?, she lost loads of weight again, and she kept it off!!!, now why did she do that i wonder????.

would of been more logical if you just didnt make a reply at all, rather than making a reply saying "oh no one cares, including me".

Later edit: From looking at some of your other posts on other boards, you raison d'être seems to be to either post up that GIF link as a reply, or to make a reply to a thread only to show disdain to it. May i suggest taking up a hobby?

wow, you come across so intelligent and mature, with only being able to make responses with gif's . Your obviously just some bored disgruntled unintelligent teenager with nothing better to do with her time

Bored - probably.
Disgruntled - not really.
Unintelligent - inane, asinine and risible.
Teenager - not for a long time.
Nothing better to do - what I'd like to do is feel Morpheus' warm embrace, but it eludes me, so I come here.

Your original post was turgid and protracted.
I tried to read it all but my proclivity for pain doesn't stretch that far.

I'm sure you'll have some witty riposte, but frankly I no longer care.

I find it odd that someone who is making extremely long post about a boring show that is over 20yrs old is telling someone else to take up a hobby.

But im not the one who has a history of only making replies to threads just to post up GIF's saying "no one cares" or making short replies that just show disdain to said thread. Put any white knight spin on it you like, its not constructive or productive at all. At least i make threads that generate discussion and make replies that contribute, which is at the very least somewhat constructive and productive.

I also find it odd that someone who states that The Ricki Lake is boring, still went ahead and clicked on a thread with "The Ricki Lake Show" in its title, and cared to read its contents anyway.

Because I'm curious to know why the hell would someone be wasting their time ranting about Ricki Lake. And believe me, I didn't read the contents. I doubt anyone has. (Notice the lack of response to the subject matter)
