ANSWERED: Not the Original Title

According to IMDb rules,

We use the original title of a movie/show in its original language as it appears on screen in the opening credits.

Which means this title:
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0076759/?ref_=fn_tt_tt_1

Should be just plain "Star Wars" not "Star Wars - Episode IV A New Hope."

For proof, I offer the original movie opener (before Lucas started messing with it)....

And the original movie poster.....

IMDb's primary title is Star Wars. The longer title you are seeing is listed as an AKA, but is displayed to some users. In the site settings it is possible to choose to always see original titles.

Hi Maggie,

You need to hover over your name in the top right corner, go to site settings, update general site preferences and change the title display country to original if this is the only title you want to see. Alternatively you can change it to your country and then you will see the IMDb title AKA as the main display title and the original underneath as Star Wars (original title).

Will
