A very, very small sample just from the past couple of years...I didn't keep confirmations from the first 14 years of thousands of data contributions.

But,just curious....since the communication lines (contributor to contributor/site to contributors, etc) also appear to be severed on Feb.20, 2017.

This post on behalf of all of the thousands of contributors who constructed a great building on the foundation site laid by the brilliant Col Needham. He should get honored by the AFI for what he has done for film heritage...with the aid of thousands of movie lovers all around the world.

No, I'm not pandering or seeking favor. Just stating what I believe to be true...while asking a question that might be, in the eyes of the site, a bit terse.

Les

Ooops Department" I missed copying the confirmation number on some of the titles. Will supply if needed. Picking from a List of close to 20,000 confirmations is prone to human error...even for us drones.

How many of your users do you think will kill themselves because these boards are their only social outlet?

reply

Ruby,

Col answered the OP topic question but...

...I don't know if Col knows (and I have no idea of how he would know) how many users depend on the IMDb as their "only social outlet" ( I sincerely hope it is none who depend on these boards as their only social outlet) and, consequently, would be unable and, I suspect, unwilling to even guess at what is, at best, a speculative off-topic question.

But since you hijacked my OP, I, speaking only for myself, speculate the answer is...not one single user.

I also think you have the right to ask your question and the correct place to ask it is on Tom's announcement post.

Looking forward to seeing it there

Best regards,

Les

Soon you will only have the Help Desk at which to fuss.

reply

and Help Desk is just so useful

reply

Jeorj,

Well, if you are talking to me reference the "fuss" comment, I've contributed more data on one single day for this site than you have in your entire(going on) 18 years combined doing whatever you do on this site. And I have no problem with any User of this site who is not a contributor. Dealers Choice and you don't have to play.Nothing wrong with being just a sideline spectator.

And, if "Fuss" is a reference to the times I've made a post questioning something on site, I don't understand your problem with that...I've made hundreds of those over the past (going-on) 17 years, and my won-lost-tie record has been close to 7-1-2, and I know at least four of those posts ended up with the site (following a staff meeting) changing a guide-line to reflect what I was advocating.

The CH Board was created to be used exactly as I have used it, along with scores of other contributors that have made a "fuss" many more times than I have. And if I irk you in some way, well so be it. That's a small price I'll pay in order to make the IMDb more accurate for the Users.

And don't be too certain that..."soon I'll only have the Help Desk at which to fuss." If I am going to "fuss" then I'll do it in a public forum...that might irk somebody and sign my name to it.

See you down the road.
