RESOLVED: Characters as keywords?

I've come across some characters that are also keywords. It's not explicitely stated in the guide, but given the fact the guide DOES say it doesn't want people, companies, genres or titles to be repeated, I would think characters (that can be also be searched, just like the people, companies, genres or titles) aren't allowed. So can a staffer delete these and contact the contributors who added them?

The ones I've found:
Captain America (http://www.imdb.com/search/keyword?keywords=captain-america)
Davy Crockett (http://www.imdb.com/search/keyword?keywords=davy-crockett)
Iron Man (http://www.imdb.com/search/keyword?keywords=iron-man)
James Bowie (http://www.imdb.com/search/keyword?keywords=james-bowie)
James Bond (http://www.imdb.com/search/keyword?keywords=james-bond)
James Bond 007 (http://www.imdb.com/search/keyword?keywords=james-bond-007)
Hulk (http://www.imdb.com/search/keyword?keywords=hulk)
Thor (http://www.imdb.com/search/keyword?keywords=thor)
Tony Stark (http://www.imdb.com/search/keyword?keywords=tony-stark)

I'm not sure it's that simple. Until /search/title is perfected to include characters as a search criterion, I'd recommend against deleting the keywords. However, I see very clearly the point being made.

Am I misremembering if I say they used to be specifically banned in the guide? With an exception for animation?

I think they are allowed now.

I very much appreciate the input from Jeorj and Pbn, but a response from a staffer would sure be nice.

Marco.

PS: I won't start any new threads on this board because that's a bit pointless, but I see no harm in replying to some older ones.

Hi Marco,

I've removed these keywords, I think a reference-to keyword would be fine but not just the character name as the character appears in the title.

If stand-alone keywords are once again not allowed, maybe you should add the rule back to the submission guide.
