Two new Brian Tyler scores

Brian Tyler probably remains one of the hardest working composers around and today two new scores of his were released, Brake and Columbus Circle.

Both scores are quite different from the wall of sound Tyler usually produces these days. Brake is somewhat similar to his score for The Lazarus Project. Mostly electronic - guitar, bass, synth and percussion (including one of Tyler's fancy sport cars) - it's a very atmospheric and dark score. Pretty cool, if you are into that kinda stuff. Columbus Circle is dark, suspense score written for a small chamber ensemble. It's nice to hear this side of Tyler again and I wish he would write more scores like these.

For those who prefer his MV/RC style scores, there's Transformers Prime. I wasn't too impressed with that one though.

Don't you know people write songs about girls like you?

Have Brake, but yet to hear it - however, halfway through Columbus Circle and just in love with it. One of the few Tyler scores I've gotten 30 minutes in and haven't once said "This sounds like Brian Tyler". Excellent, unnerving score.

I listened to Transformers Prime...it was fun, but like a lot of his non-movie-action-score things, almost TOO much for an album release. Will definitely listen to Circle a lot more than Prime.
