2012

So what's everybody looking forward to the most this year? Off the cuff, here are the scores I'll be standing in line for:

The Avengers - I'm pumped to see Silvestri continue his work with Captain America, and I'm very curious to see if he "borrows" the themes for Thor, Hulk, and Iron Man.

The Dark Knight Rises - Having now participated in the chant, I'm anxious to see my work come to fruition ;)

The Expendables 2 - Brian Tyler is the only guy I know who can come up with music as testosterone-charged as the movie itself.

The Bourne Legacy - VERY curious to hear what James Newton Howard does with this. John Powell was the best part of the original trilogy for me, so there are some PRETTY big shoes to fill.

Total Recall - Again, the original was outstanding. I wonder if Harry will pay homage to the late, great Jerry Goldsmith, or if he'll take this one in an entirely new direction.

I got a thread at another board going about it, too:

The New Number 2: "Are you going to run?"
Number 6: "Like blazes. First chance I get."

I'm not up to date on new scores, but I guess I'll be interested in anything Hans Zimmer composes, so The Dark Knight Rises definitely!

This world is a comedy to those that think, a tragedy to those that feel.

the usual suspects for me. anything from Elfman, Powell, Zimmer, Newton Howard, Thomas Newman, Gregson Williams and so forth.

looks to be a great year for movies, shame about the world ending though

Heck is where you go to if you don't believe in Gosh

Namely The Hunger Games, Dark Shadows, Frankenweenie, Brave and, of course, The Hobbit.

Um...say what, now?

reply

he's talking about the choral chant. Zimmer wanted everyone to go this website and chant the theme or whatever you want to call it for Bane. so if you go to the website and submit your chant, it could end up in the movie as part of the choir.

I'm waiting quite a lot from "The Dark Knight Rises", also sure that "The Hobbit" will be epic.
