Why do Christian movies suck?
There's been a list of Christian/ religiously acclaimed movies produced in the past few years. Why do so many of them fail not only financially but resting wise?

shareA lot of them just seem more interested in preaching than filmmaking quality. A lot of the most recent films don't even hire real actors; they hire members of a church. I know this was the case for Fireproof and Saving Christmas.
I'm not sure what you mean by "resting wise" but a lot of them are actually really successful at the box-office. I think this is mainly because church groups buy a bunch of tickets for their groups.
I'd perhaps watch if they make one about how they imagine heaven will be like.
shareDO they suck? I wasn't aware. Some of them are quite good. But, being Christian, they're naturally a bit more narrow, dogmatic and preachy in a Hallmark Channel soap-opera sort of way, lacking the sex, violence and foul language that infiltrates other, more mainstream sorts of movies, so maybe that's what you meant.
shareHonestly, I've never known of a Christian movie in recent years to be any good. The only ones I can think of throughout history are things like Ben-Hur or The Last Temptation of Christ, but those are made to appeal to everybody. In terms of films specifically targeted towards Christians, I can't think of a single example of anything worth watching beyond ironic entertainment value. I still haven't been able to make it through Saving Christmas.
shareThe phenomenon follows logically from the fundamental lack of curiosity and imagination it takes to consider that Christianity reflects reality whatsoever in the first place, natch.
