Least Favorite Director

They dont necessarily have to be bad but u just dont like their movies

I dont like Michael Bays movies ( like transformers ) or Ridley Scotts ( like Noah and Exodus )

reply

Sofia Coppola. Man, I can't stand her movies.

McG, he's terrible at directing action scenes.

Harold Cronk, for making the worst movie of all time.

Noah Baumbach, for making the third and second worst movies I've ever seen!

Ah, I forgot about that one. Indeed. But well... this happens often when you get your name in the first place because one of your parents is a respected director.

David O'Russell

Oscar baiting prima-donna and director of mostly dull films

reply

Brian De Palma. I've seen 10 of his movies and at least 9 I would rate lower than IMDB. He's had a # of movies I had hopes for and was disappointed. Often in spite of a good cast.

Michael Bay - He has two good movies IMO, The Rock and Armaggeddon

Eli Roth and Josh Trank.

Okay, those might not be among the worst directors, just some acclaimed directors who's entire oeuvre was very underwhelming to me, despite maybe one or two strong movies.

Danny Boyle
Tom Hooper
David O. Russell
Robert Zemeckis (First BttF was good though, everything else is crap)
Christopher Nolan (I liked Memento and Inception, the rest - not so much)
James Cameron (Mostly decent movies, but only the first Terminator was impressive)
Paul Greengrass
David Yates
Ridley Scott (Has not done anything truly interesting since Blade Runner, only a couple of decent ones like The Martian, a lot of *beep* as well like Exodus)
J.J. Abrams (Mostly decent movies, but never impressive ones)
Guy Ritchie
Ron Howard (Thumbs up for the solid Rush though)

And the ones who are often acclaimed for the wrong movies, though are great, but overrated directors:
Clint Eastwood (Yes I love Unforgiven, Letters from Iwo Jima and Mystic River, but American Sniper, The Changeling, Gran Torino???)
Quentin Tarantino (A lot of solid movies, but Inglourious and Django did nothing for me)
Darren Aronofsky (The Wrestler and The Fountain were awesome, the rest overrated)
Steven Spielberg (I hate Schindler's List and Saving Private Ryan!)
Martin Scorsese (Last great one was Goodfellas)

that'll be the day
