I really love "Anita" by Marcos Carnevale, released a few years ago (maybe 2010-2012?). Note that there are (at least) two very different versions. Anita suffers from Down syndrome and is so fat that you cannot even estimate her age. She is also mentally retarded. After the great attentate against the Jewish centre Anita starts an odyssey through the town.
But then there are two markedly different versions. In one of them she will meet many other people. All of them (except the nurse near the end) will thinking of getting rid of her as soon as possible, but it is also their decision to take responsibility for her as long as she is under their care. So there is an element of "feel good" in this version, despite all other things that happens. This is the version I saw at the Jewish Film Festival in Stockholm.
The other version is the one on my DVD bought from Taiwan. The number of people she meets are much smaller, and the degree of responsibility of most of them is minimal. For instance, the photographer takes her on a buss, asks her to sit down until he returns, and hastily leaves the buss.
The primary centre in "Tango - Gardel's Exile" are fugitives in Paris, and I must say, it is a long time since Paris has been photographed with so much love as in this movie.
