OT: John Huston's "The Treasure of the Sierra Madre"

I consider this to be one the greatest cinematic masterpieces ever! I can watch it again and again till the day I die.

The dialogues, the visual imagery, and especially the ACTING are truly exceptional. I think this film represents Humphrey Bogart's greatest performance. But the performance that stays with you forever is that of Walter Huston, the director's father, as the grizzled prospector who has seen it all.

Is this how you feel superior to culturally stupid Indians?

Great film indeed. I've my changed my opinion on Bogart after watching this film.

Make a move, Reindeer Games..

I saw it once. I'll rewatch this. It is pretty good indeed.

Bogart was great in The African Queen too. You could check it out, if you haven't already.

Indeed. It is stunning piece of work. Huston might very well be one of top 5 story tellers in the medium.

It is indeed a masterpiece. the best moment was when Walter Houston started laughing on the other two and making fun of them. Walter Houston was just awesome. Bogey still remains no.1 in my eyes. The Caine mutiny court room trail can't be bettered.
