OT: Hell or High Water (2016)

pretty good so far. this is what american cinema ought to be. not as good as FARGO. but very entertaining. like a well written crime fiction novel. nice small town characters. liked the plump waitress a lot. everyones acted well. nice locales. awesome soundtrack. taylor sheridan is a writer to watch out for. even though SICARIO was just ok.

It does remind you of Kirk Douglas and Paul Newman starrers from the 60s. Ben Foster needs to star in this kind of movies.

i wasnt a big BEN FOSTER fan. but he did a good job here. the guy who played his brother was also very good. one of the best american films ive seen in a while.

Fantastic movie, one of my favorites from last year. The writing and performances are aces, especially from Jeff Bridges and Ben Foster.

I do like that waitress. She looked hot 

Simple, old school movie.

Taylor Sheridan isn't a great writer. I read his Sicario script and it sucked terribly.

SICARIO was average. but HELL OR HIGH WATER script was quite consistent. this is as good as it gets for 21st century american cinema.

I've driven through West Texas. It's magnificently desolate and beautiful.
