Need Help

I rented a movie years ago (15 or more) that was a foreign film. I started a collection of artistic and sexual/human experience driven films from France, Italy etc.... and I want this one for my collection. I remember very little except a few scenes that stood out as unique to the genre. The premise starts as most those films, a strained relationship between a young couple but by the end there is a carnival style scene that includes a, for lack of better explanation, a naked female carousal where they are exposed from the neck down but can not see anything going on. The female star is included in this carousal. Any help with a name of the film would be greatly appreciated. I know it is little information but if you have seen this movie that scene stands out in contrast to the rest of the movie.
