Favourite European Films

In recent years I have become a great fan of European Cinema, primarily French, Scandinavian & Spanish films. Here is list of my favourites European films to date:
http://www.imdb.com/list/ls066208318/

I would be keen to see other recommendations.

Here is a list from just the first decade of the new century. They are in chronological order. (P.S. "Incndies" sure is a great film but it is French-Canadian, not European, but I suppose by stretching the definition a bit, it can fit in.)

Thanks MikeF-6 1
Yes ! I know I stretched it a bit with "Incendies" being a French Canadian production, but it is one of my favourite films , so I am pretending it is more French than Canadian for this list !! Thank you for your list. I am familiar with a number of them ( eg. all the Haneke films) , and I note we have few favourites in common ( The Piano Teacher, A Very Long Engagement).

I second almost all suggestions by Mike F-6. When you have finished them you may take a look at my series. – By and large they are more tragic.
Many people (including me), but not everyone, think that “Children of Paradise” is the best movie ever made. I saw it for the first time in 1954, and I have never changed my mind about its top position.
“Blue is the Warmest Colour” is classified as a Tunisian movie, but only because the finances come from that country. All main parts are French, and they think like French people and have the kind of problems of French people. The second half may well be the most tragic movie ever produced.
“The Flowers of Kirkuk” has precisely the opposite form. The plot and situations take place in Kurdish Irak. Only the finances come from Italy and Switzerland.

If to choose from my list of free online movies good European movies, I'l say the Peaky Blinders series, the movies Papillon (2017) and Locke (2014). The Lobster (2015) is a good movie too, abnormal but good.
