Phillipa Soo replaces Samantha Barks in Amelie Broadway transfer

I saw Samantha Barks in the Berkeley Rep premiere last year and she was magical. Best wishes for Phillipa!

Buzz: Still waiting to hear how you liked the movie score of The Last Five Years. Now I'm getting worried you didn't care for it. 

Oh, I like it and have been listening to it quite a bit lately. My only gripe is Anna Kendrick's voice is grating at times. She can get really shrill and nasally/whiny in her upper range and it makes me cringe so I have to turn the volume down.

Buzz: In the play of The Last Five Years do they sing that last song (Goodbye) together? In the movie she is saying goodbye until tomorrow - but he is just saying goodbye. Just wondering how that works in the play. Thanks!

It starts off with just her singing "Goodbye Until Tomorrow" then they join in together for "I Could Never Rescue You".

Sounds very powerful. I can't help but cry at the end of the movie. I don't think either is right or wrong, necessarily.... they just couldn't make it work.

AWESOME! I'm so glad to see the musical is still getting all of this attention!

It is semi-autobiographical. When I see it now, I try to think about it from JRB's perspective and the actress he was dating at the time.
