It's really Hard for me to watch Horror movies that are 2006 and newer unless it was in theaters but I have been bored with almost all Horror that I have tried to watch that's the straight to dvd SyFy stuff especially I will find a good one but they are so rare and I loved Horror
shareTell me all about it! Horror has really become the mocking mirror of 90s rom-coms. Ok, maybe that's too harsh, but it's close enough. Pure formula where the cast is the only thing that ever changes.
Imagine something like Hellraiser, The Thing or Jacob's Ladder getting made today. Do we even have original horror writers anymore?
Well The Thing from 2011? you don't have to imagine and Hellraiser Hellworld and a Helraiser without Doug Bradley as Pinhead I think it was kinda a found footage thing

By the way, if there's a Carpenter movie that needs a good remake, it's Prince of Darkness... Just give it a better cast, cut the goofy stuff with Alice Cooper and you've got a winner.
last good horror movie i saw was The Void (2016). people with 80s and 90s horror movies bias will love it.
also, we grow up. things are not as scary anymore. its just like drugs, we develop tolerance.

shareMost modern horror sucks. Often the story is non existent, awful dialogue, and the acting really bad.
It confuses me why modern horror is like that. Is it laziness? Is it stupidity? Is it lack of talent? I find it staggering just how many crap movies get massive funding and go into production when they're absolute trash.
Part of it is the culture has changed so that women can no longer be seen as victims and instead are portrayed as basically a man with boobs. It reads as false.
