2017 - the Horror Board Film Companion

This is the 11th consecutive year for the Horror Board Film Companion. It's a tradition that Zibbity-Bop started and that Simian_Jack carried on when Z_Bop stopped posting here. Simian asked me to take over this year and that's what I'll do. Except for the host's name - nothing has changed really and that's the way I intend to keep it.

A dedicated few participate in this each year as we all come together to track viewing habits. This is an open invitation to anyone who would like to participate.

Below are some suggestions of what/how to track your viewing habits. Simply show/talk/tell about what you are watching this year and remember that while this is the horror board, this is not limited to only horror movies.

Discussion is encouraged, but not required. A simple list is as welcome as the most elaborate one.

Suggestions for notation:
Number of films seen this year
Number of horror films
Number of first time viewings
Number of films seen in a theater or other public venue
Favorite discoveries (director, performer, genre, etc.)
Top views, first-time or rewatch
Directors you've watched the most
Films numbered by decade, or year most represented
...or anything else that strikes your fancy, like how many consecutive days you did or didn't watch movies, whether you saw them alone, etc.

And that's it. It's not a challenge, not a competition - just a place to list what you see, horror or otherwise, and maybe generate a little movie talk from time to time.

I'll be the first person to reply to this because for safety sake I might delete this first post sometime in January after everyone has signed on. Just in case I urge everyone to keep back-ups of their logs somewhere safe.
