Recent High-Quality European Dramas

The fact that Italy and Switzerland is probably indicated because the finances came from these countries. The languages talked are Kurdish and Arabian. (I wonder if this is the first Kurdish movie?)
This movie is available as DVD dubbed into Italian and also has Italian subtitles.

Almost the same may be true of "Blue is the warmest colour", though the director is from Tunisia. All actors are French and talk only French. The landscapes are clearly French. I guess that "Blue…" will soon become the general title also within France. It is a Lesbian movie, and one of the girls has blue hair. I believe that most Lesbians will agree that this is one of the best Lesbian movies ever released. And numerous movie enthusiasts will agree that it is one of the best movies released in this century. – On 14th February 2014 it will be released on DVD.

I am surprised by the high quality of many recent Polish movies, also some I have not listed here.

"Cztery noce z Anna" (Four Nights With Anna) by Skolimowski, Jerzy (Poland, 2008)
[A neighbouring man (Leon?) who is deeply in love with Anna will during night time go in through an open window and just sit for hours looking at her. He may also paint her toe nails. – IMDb's content description is "A crematorium worker repeatedly breaks into a woman's house at night to help with housework". I think this is nonsense.
- - However, since he is secretly so much near her, often also at daytime, he happens to be in the barn when another man ties and rapes Anna. Here he makes a capital foolish action. He leaves the barn when the rapist does so. This and the court interrogations make me conclude that he was mentally retarded. He is the only one Anna recognised, and he gets a five-year sentence. But Anna tells him that she does not believe that he was the rapist.]

"Pour Elle" (Anything for Her) by Cavayé, Fred (France, 2008)
[An innocent woman is convicted of murder and had got a 20-year sentence. Her husband collects much information about the prison and then liberates her. Together with the little son they escape to San Salvador. There are some scenes of action, but I am more interested in the information collecting. It is also, and definitely, a love movie]

"Ciemnego pokoju nie trzeba sie bac" (The Dark Room Is Not Dangerous) by Czekaj, Kuba (Poland, 2009)
[Sorry, it would be difficult to write a brief comment that would do justice to this movie.]

"Golakani Kirkuk" (The Flowers of Kirkuk) by Kamkari, Fariborz (Italy/Switzerland, 2010)
[See the plot summary and the user reviews.]

"La vie d'Adèle" (Blue is the warmest colour) by Kicheche, Abdellatif (Tunisia, 2013)
