Blue Is the Warmest Colour

This movie was just now shown at Stockholm Film Festival. The original title means "Adéle's Life", but I believe that both France and Tunisia are already on the wedge to adopting the international name. This movie will be shown thrice during the festival, and each time in an unusually large cinema hall. Nevertheless, all tickets are sold out. But the movie will be shown again in commercial theatres from 22th November. Moreover, a DVD will be released in February 2014.

It is a Lesbian movie, and there are sex scenes of an open character rarely shown in ordinary films. But there are as many and as interesting scenes where nether Adèle nor the girl with the blue hair are undressed. It is a love movie with most intensive emotions. But not all emotions are positive and I, for one, feel really sorry when the relation finally breakes.

I would like to describe some additional aspects of the movie. But it is difficult what to select because many scenes illuminate each other.

Until now my favourites Lesbian movie was "Afternoon Breezes" (Kazetachi no gogo) by Hitoshi Yazaki. But now I am even more, yes much more, fond of "Blue is the warmest colour" by Abdellatif Kicheche (Tunisia, 2010).

This movie will be available within less than one month. (The earlier promise of February 14 was not held.)
