Please help me identify this stand-up comedian I saw...

I've been wracking my brain trying to recall his name.

Clues:

1) I saw his stand-up special on HBO (or maybe it was SHOWTIME, but I think it was HBO) between 5 - 8 years ago.


2) He was a tallish, thinnish, dark haired, (but balding), white guy ala present day James Taylor


3) I think his first name was either "Dave" or "Don" and his last name was one syllable. Maybe it was something like "Dave Crowe" or "Dave Crewe" or something like that.


4) He said he played trombone (in the marching band in college) and part of his shtick was about how he sarcastically recalled how "sexy" the trombone was vs a guitar, and about how *sarcasm* "easy it was to pick up chicks by playing his trombone" (rather than guitar like a lot of other guys).


Please help me. This has been dribong me crazy for years.
