I'm f_cking sick over this. This is terrible news for us real cine-philes, and it's a cop-out IMO by the IMDB folks. Instead of finding a way to manage trolls better, they just say 'ah what the hell just zap the whole thing'
Colossal, colossal bad move IMO.

I can't say that I haven't had fun the past 12 years posting here, and keeping Hollywierd informed about what a mess it's become, and have a few laughs along the way as well.
However, The boards here have evolved into a kindergarten of dummies with an average IQ of 50. Name calling for stating an opinion, and then revenge in the reply posts.
If IMDB keeps open the review section for its members, as well as the 'edit' button that I have enjoyed clicking on almost 300 times to add info about a flick, and keeps an "honest" ratings number, that isn't bought by Hollyweird (my biggest concern), I think it may be a positive move, and will "class up the site". Good luck IMDB, I hope locking up your Police uniforms works out for you in the long run.
However, If I see the ratings numbers on poorly made big budget movies get a stank to them, I'm gone, and so will the rest of us be.
All the best with this decision.
