Anyone know about TV production?
I tried posting this in the General Discussion section for the reasons I stated within; but the problem is, that section is too busy. My post just dropped off the page before anyone who could answer could see it. So, I'm reposting it here, where it should have gone in the first place:
I suppose this question is better suited to the "Shop Talk" section, but the most recent post there was 6 months ago, so I guess it's either dead or comatose.share
What is the usual interval between the filming of a television episode and its first airing?
In particular I'm wondering about shows done in the USA; thirty minute episodes; set in the present day (so no difficulties with period clothing, cars, etc); done mostly on standing sets, with no additional sets used that pose extraordinary difficulties; no special effects such as in SF; music and canned laughter from already established libraries.
In other words, something like Seinfeld, although I'm not wondering about that series specifically; I'm curious what the timetable is generally.
