Is this a good idea for a short film project?
I have a script I was to shoot, but I am having trouble finding a PSM to record production audio in my area. I will be operating the camera, as well as directing most likely and therefore cannot be the PSM/boom op, simultaneously.
I was thinking of rewriting the script so it's story is told in narration, like a documentary, and it would be sort of a pseudo-documentary thriller. An example would be like this in this episode of FBI Files, about 34:50 into the clip, and at 27:25 into the clip:

Notice how the narrator talks over the actor's voice and the actor is barely audible. I was thinking of doing a the film like that, where a narrator tells the story through narrated dialogue, instead of the actors dialogue. What do you think? Since it's microbudget, I will have to cut corners and make it work stylistically. Is that do-able, for a pseudo-documentary style?
