Discovery will be set in the original Timeline and universe!

The best Star Trek news I've heard in years. Brian Fuller confirmed the Star Trek: Discovery will take place in the Prime (TV) universe. I'm not sure I could have made myself watch it if it took place in the crappy Michael Bayish movie universe they've created. I certainly wouldn't pay for it.

Along with the news that it will be serialized not episodic, is really starting to get my hopes up.

Can we assume from the registry that the series will be set between Enterprise and TOS? So basically it'll be in both the Prime and Kelvin universes.

That's my thought as well. It would also make the big fuss they made about the fan film Axanar a little more rational. If the fan film is using events they may wish to use on the show.

I don't know if it's been debunked, but there were rumors of it being set shortly after Undiscovered Country.

It apparently takes place 10 years before TOS. Around the time Christopher Pike was Captain of the Enterprise. Which would put it in the Prime timeline. Although if you want my opinion, they were never the same. There are clues....
