Nimoy's Shaved Eyebrows

I've seen some of the behind the scenes materials from the original series, particularly Leonard Nimoy having to partially shave his eyebrows before they could apply the swept up look for Spock. It made me wonder if there's any account of what Leonard Nimoy did when he wasn't on set? Did he walk around, leading his everyday life with most of his eyebrows missing, with at best some feint stubble grown in? Or might the production have allowed him to go back into make-up at the end of the end day and maybe have the fake eyebrows readjust, or the material reapplied in a way to make them look normal?
