They should have a Muslim crewman in the new show

I mean come-on Star Trek shows a positive view of the future, and in the 60's version they had a black woman and an Asian. So what about a Muslim crew member, not like captain but on the bridge in an important role in science department. Maybe some young Muslim who is begin bullied and is likely to be converted to a terrorist, will see him and say "Theres a Muslim on tv and he aint no terrorist." and things will change for him.

Thing is, any star trek character doesn't need to be any specific earth religion. Sure, they could have a Muslim actor playing a part (that would be good), but they don't need to make a special announcement of what religion this character is. When Trek gets into religion it typically ends up getting mocked (like the TOS episode where they worship a computer) or Chakotay's hokey fake 'tribe'.

it can't be compared to other religions
oh, i think we can make lots of comparisons😝. It's no different to any other religion (it's based on the same fundamentals - highlighting the 'mentals' of course - as several other major religions). They all revolve around the same rules of 'give me your money or i kill you'.

You know the old joke?

George Dubya Bush is taking a small walk in D.C., when he accidentally bumps into the Iranian ambassador.
"Good morning, Mr. President."
"Good morning, Mr. Ambassador. How do you like our great country so far?"
"It's truly great, magnificent. I love American culture. I especially love your TV shows. My very favorite American show is Star Trek."
"Oh really?"
"I just don't understand one thing. In the series, there are people from every ethnicity in the world, so why aren't there any Muslims in Star Trek?"
"You know, Mr. Ambassador, this series is set in the future..."

"A voice from behind me reminds me. Spread out your wings you are an angel." 

Why would you want to do that to Star Trek!

Terran religions have bi and large not been mentioned in canonical Star Trek,
excluding a reference to either Thanksgiving or Christmas in "Charlie X" and Chakotay on "Voyager". However, in the books, Spock and Kirk are Jewish.

Because Trek has always been about expanding boundaries and learning new things about new cultures, civilizations, and people different from you?

Have you been living under a rock since Trek was created?

They did have Dr. Bashir on Deep Space Nine...

This notion Muslims will somehow accept us if we pander to them is ludicrous. They hate our culture and everything about us. Not just the radicals. The overwhelming majority of Muslims despise us.
