IS BREAKING BAD A CULT TV SHOW? IF YOU THINK SO, WHY?

I'm hesitant to call it a "cult" tv show. Only because it become popular at the end. My personal definition of a "cult tv show" is a show that wasn't popular while on but had its fans. Examples are like The Wire, Veronica Mars, Firefly, and Jericho. If Breaking Bad didn't become the must see tv show it became during its final 16 episodes then I'd definitely call it one. I'm not saying it isn't one either but it became the most talked about thing in pop culture during its final year.
I'm open to hear arguments that might lean me one way ir the other. Breaking Bad was one of my favorite series and I watched from the very first day it was on.
I'd think not since it was so widely popular.
