There have been many, many memorable costumes in movies but what do you think is the most famous for each decade.

1910s - Chaplin's Little Tramp costume
1920s - ?
1930s - Scarlet O'Hara's curtain dress
1940s - Gilda's "Put the Blame on Mame" dress
1950s - Monroe's subway grate dress
1960s - Eliza Doolittle's Ascot dress
1970s - Darth Vader's costume
1980s - Indiana Jones' costume
1990s - Neo's black coat
2000s - ?

30's- Dorothy' s blue gingham and Ruby slippers

It was a toss-up whether I go in for diamonds or sing in the choir. The choir lost.

1960s is probably Connery in a dinner jacket as Bond, maybe the white tux with red carnation from Goldfinger.

2000s would be someone like Jack Sparrow or Harry Potter

well, you have some good calls. It is hard to get it down to one, but these hang in my memory

1920's---Francis X Bushman in the winged Roman helmet.

1930's---certainly Scarlett's curtain dress, but also her red one.

Marlene Dietrich's garters and stockings in The Blue Angel.

Dracula's cape and tux.

Johnny Weissmuller's Tarzan loincloth & also that loincloth Maureen O'Sullivan wears in Tarzan and his mate.

1940's--Rita's "Put the blame on Mame" black satin dress.

Esther Williams bathing suit.

Vincent Price in The Invisible Man Returns wearing the scarecrow's tattered old suit.

1950's---Marilyn white grate dress.

Marilyn's red dress in Niagara.

1960's---Sophia Loren's corset (or whatever it is called) with the garters and stockings in The Millionairess. Also Sophia's undies in Yesterday, Today, and Tomorrow.
