OT-WHY THE HATE ON MsELLERYQUEEN?

If you knew anything at all about her, you would know that she does not like call-out threads. No matter what your intentions, that's what you are doing here. You're just giving the crowd another forum to vocalize their dislike (I refuse to call it hate) of the woman and the why of it all.

I'm very confused here.

There was a similar thread here just a few weeks ago. It's gone now, I believe that the OP suffered a history wipe-out, maybe he self deleted but the thread is gone.

There's already enough going on in the Ben Mankiewicz thread. Have you read every post there in nest mode? It may serve as a crash course.

Yes, I've read most of that thread, and I must confess that I still don't understand the vitriol.

I was especially disturbed by the posts from hobnob, who, IMO, is one of the most intelligent and learned posters on the CFB.

I realize that most Americans nowadays are on the verge of total mania, what with the current political candidates (especially Trump), terrorist attacks around the world, and this unbearably hot, humid summer.

Please, please, PLEASE, tell me why you all hate MsElleryQueen so much!
I'm not taking sides; I just want to know.

When you walk in in the middle of a movie and keep asking "But why? Why is he doing that? I don't understand" the logical response is "You need to see the movie from the beginning if you want to understand the motives of the characters."

THANK YOU. I'm so bloody tired of people wandering in and saying 'OMGwhyyouallhatesonthiswimminsomuchallayez', but admitting they have no damn clue as to what any of it is about. If you want to know more, do some research. Everyone who posts here has a public posting history, go read up and do some fact-checking. If you're not willing, for whatever reason, to do that then just accept it for being what it is, pay attention to what's going on currently, and draw your own conclusions from that.

But I'll tell you what. I'm a generous soul, I do like to help. So here--read this link:

Then multiply what she says in it about to the power of 10,000, realize that she applies this same set of 'responses' to just about any topic that can be remotely twisted to fit them, understand that she does this again and again, know that she has followed other users around berating them on the basis of this mad criteria, be aware that she's created threads on other boards with the express intent of igniting feuds betwixt those boards and CFB, see that she's attempted to create internecine wars by exchanging character-assassinating PM's between users, and lastly discover that she's encouraged at least one well-known troll to instigate attacks on this board by seeking to have said troll play white-knight at her never-ending self-pity fest.

Then read some of the regulars on this board, and see for yourself just how much they fit
her profile of 'elitist snobs who put her down by equating film tastes with intelligence' and like self-pitying crappola for yourself.

Then, as the well-known motto goes: 'We report. You decide'.

The ironic part is that if you really knew MEQ, you would have thought twice about creating this thread. Many times she has stated her disapproval of callout threads and here you are creating one. You're giving people a chance to regurgitate all of the reasons they may have for disliking her - I refuse to use the word "hate" as I save that for select individuals and I like to give others the benefit of the doubt. I don't believe that they really hate her although they may have what they consider valid reasons for considering her annoying.

So, if people give their reasons, then she'll have to defend herself and things will start up all over again. And it will go back-and forth with each side justifying their history and both sides telling the other "if you don't like my posts, then ignore them."

Unless someone can actually document an incident, it's all hearsay, isn't it? Anyone can offer filtered misinterpretations, distortions or outright lies. You're just throwing another can of fuel to the fire.

And when someone deletes their posts on a pretty continual basis--indeed boasts of doing so--then it suggests the possibility that they might have ample reason for not wanting to leave behind too much evidence to be documented.
