Second Act: JLo Fulfils Her Career Ambitions in This Romantic Comedy

Jennifer Lopez. The name is enough to evoke a sense of devotion in every pop culture fanatic’s mind. Is it her fierce stage presence and showmanship or her flawless dance move that are deemed to be iconic? She is one of pop’s reigning queen who’s carved a unique place for herself in the world of modern pop culture.

Popularly known as J Lo, she’s also starred in many romantic comedies like Maid in Manhattan amongst others. The diva is all set to star in romantic comedy directed by Peter Segal and written by Elaine Goldsmith-Thomas and Justin Zackham.

The trailer of the movie opens with the dialogue, “I just wish we lived in a world where street smarts equal book smarts?” The plot of the movie revolves around Maya, a woman who gets a chance to land in the job of her dreams. The catch here is that, even though her talents are her own, her resume is not her own. Her friends forge all her credentials to make her achieve her dream life.

Apart from the pop powerhouse, the movie also stars Vanessa Hudgens as Zoe, Leah Remini as Joan, Annaleigh Ashford as Hildy, Freddie Stroma as Ron, Dan Bucatinsky as Arthur, Milo Ventimiglia as Trey, Treat Williams as Anderson Clarke and Larry Miller as Weiskopf among others.

The movie was shot in the Queens, Bronx and Manhattan neighborhoods of New Year City. Second Act is slated to release by November 21, 2018.
