Lupt: A Horror-Drama Brought Forth by Remo D’Souza

Choreographer turned director Remo D’Souza has been basking in the glory of the success Race 3 has brought him. The third installment in the Race franchise which starred Salman Khan, Daisy Shah, Jacqueline Fernandes, Bobby Deol and Saqib Salim raked in over 300 crores globally.

After Race 3, Remo D Souza is back in tinseltown to promote a horror film, Lupt. The movie stars Jaaved Jaaferi, Vijay Raaz, Karan Aanand, Niki Walia, Meenakshi Dixit, Rishina Kandhari along with Rishab Chadha in lead roles. Jaaved Jaafri took to Instagram to say that he would be in a never-seen-before avatar in the horror movie.

Remo D Souza took to the micro-blogging site Twitter to reveal the poster for the horror flick. In the spooky poster, Meenakshi Dixit’s face resembles that of a possessed soul with a deep gash on her forehead and eyes without pupils. Lupt is produced by Hanwant Khatri and Lalit Kiri. The horror drama is written and directed by Prabhuraj. The music for Lupt is composed by Siddhant Parashar.

The premise of the movie Lupt which means vanishing in Hindi is about a family and the tales and secrets that lurk in the family. Also, the makers of the movie claim that the movie is based on a true story. The premise for the movie is also quite a familiar premise. Will Lupt be a movie capable of reinventing the genre which has been out of popularity as of late? Or will Lupt be another one of the horror movies of 2018 that were a mere miss? Only time will tell.

This year 2018 has witnessed its fair share of horror movies. From movies helmed by mainstream bankable actors to movies starring new comers, Bollywood has seen it all. Anushka Sharma’s Pari would be one of Bollywood’s most notable horror films of the year, owing to the leading lady and the plot which borders on creepy more than horror.
Lupt is slated to release in India on September 20th 2018.
