Yamla Pagla Deewana 3: Triple The Antics, Triple The Comedy

The third installment in the Yamla Pagla Deewana franchise tells us that Bollywood’s nowhere close to giving up on the trend of sequels. The makers of the film claim that the film would not be a continuation of the earlier two films, but would be a fresh one with new characters and a new storyline.

Yamla Pagla Deewana Phir Se stars Kriti Kharbanda, Asrani, Satish Kaushik and Binnu Dhillon in leading roles apart from Dharmendra, Sunny Deol and Bobby Deol. The first film, Yamla Pagla Deewana was an attempt to unite the Deol clan under a comic precise, while the second film was an attempt to repeat the glory of the film. What the third film brings in store is it tried-and-tested formulas to incite laughter, but will they work for the new age audiences? Only time will tell.

The trailer for the movie may not make you laugh, but will surprises you and intrigue with all the amazing cameos that are in store. The third installment of the Yamla Pagla Deewana franchise includes cameos by Salman Khan, Sonakshi Sinha, Shatrughan Sinha and Rekha.
The trailer of the movie shows the Deols trying a Gujarati impersonation, thereby hiding their Punjabi identity. Dharmendra plays a drunk man who hallucinates about beautiful, angelic women, while Sunny Deol brings in his angry man avatar with tons of heart-pounding action. Bobby Deol plays the role of a lover, which makes us reminisce of lovers in the 90’s.

In this sequel, Dharmendra would be sharing screen space with Rekha in the re-imagined version of ‘Rafta Rafta’ from the 1973 film Kahani Kismat Ki. Also, according to reports, Rekha has rapped while Sonakshi Sinha has lended her vocals for the track. The video features Salman Khan, Sunny and Bobby Deol in the video.

Directed by Navaniat Singh and written by Dheeraj Rattan, Yamla Pagla Deewana is slated to release on 31st August 2018.
