I was disappointed by it, though I so wanted to like it going in. It is a very downbeat movie and I expected something different.
I don't know. Just felt the main characters had no chemistry together. Couldn't name one song that was memorable. But I understand a lot of people like it a lot. Would like to hear from them the reasons why. I must have missed something.

I like La La Land, and have lately come to the theory that the story is about dreams being living forces, and that they are manipulating reality for their own benefit
shareI liked it but I feel I was influenced by all the great reviews the film was getting. Now that all the hoopla has died down, I should watch it again and see how I really feel about the film.

I fear my dislike was mostly shallow... I didn't like the story or the songs and I usually like those actors (the leads). I couldn't really complain about the acting, actually, I don't think, but I was certainly puzzled by all the Oscar noms.
