Do you think film studios want to make GOOD films? Honestly?

Does anyone still believe the big studios care about quality anymore? They don't want to make good movies, or even entertaining movies. They exist solely to make a profit, just like the Coca-Cola company. There is no difference. They are selling a sugary fix of caffeine . No nutrients, nothing beneficial to the body whatsoever.

I think everyone secretly knows the quality of Hollywood movies we see in the theaters has declined vastly over the last 20 years.

So my question is, how long can this horrible studio system go on for? How long until the movie theaters completely empty out because no one wants to leave their house anymore? Then what will be left? Horrible streaming-service released movies? Filmed on giant empty sets with no extras? Add some slow boring synths in the background. Welcome to 2020s filmmaking.

The issue is, the concepts of good or entertaining are like beauty, it’s in the eye of the beholder.

The world is filled with billions of people with a wide range of preferences and opinions in what they find entertaining.

You can’t please all of them.

So studios try to please as many as they can in the case of big-budget blockbusters and aim at smaller groups with the smaller budget award-seeking dramas.

Or at least they used to.

Now it does seem like they don’t care anymore, especially since most big budget films are focused on shoving woke (i.e. DEI) topics very few people care about down our throats.

The same topics the smaller budget award-seeking dramas used to cover and very few people ever saw those, at least not in theaters.

Disney especially has taken it on like some holy Crusade.

To make it even worse, in order to save money, producers are hiring cheaper writers and directors with little experience to helm those massive productions, which doesn’t help quality.

It’s like hiring a hot dog vendor to run a major 5-star multi-million dollar restaurant.

So no clue what studios are thinking these days since they continue to lose money.

It’s like they’re trying to destroy the industry on purpose.
