Low key favourite shots in horror films

What are some of your favourite "low-key" shots/sequences in well known horror films, that aren't any of the signature or famous shots these movies are known for (probably even by people who haven't even seen them)? And why.

Examples:

- The Exorcist (William Friedkin, 1973):

My favourite shot is that of father Karas celebrating mass and giving the Eucharist approx 90min into the film, after his first encounter with Reagan.
He's got this thousand yard stare and mouths every word like they've suddenly acquired a new, very tangible meaning and are no longer allegory. He's processing his first traumatic encounter with the possessed child and as a consequence of this direct confrontation with metaphysical evil, starts believing again and regaining his faith.

- Candyman (Bernard Rose, 1992):

My favourite shot is one, 15 min into the film, of a cold, empty room of the uninhabited apartment behind Helen's bathroom cabinet's mirror.
For a reason I can't explain, this very simple and static shot elicits profound uneasiness, on an almost psychoanalytical level. The idea that there's an unknown, unexplainable and irrational world, so close to what we feel is familiar to us and with no real frontier between them is disturbing and very well translated in that sequence (a more sinister version of 'Through the looking glass").
