Oscar Winning Actors Who Should Have Won For Other Roles

Actors often get make-up Oscars or have won for arguably lesser work. What roles, nominated or otherwise, do you feel some actors should’ve won for? For me:

Al Pacino- The Godfather Parts 1 and 2, Serpico, Dog Day Afternoon
Leonardo DiCaprio- The Wolf of Wall Street
Joaquin Phoenix- The Master
Paul Newman- The Verdict
Denzel Washington- Malcolm X
Reese Witherspoon- Wild
Natalie Portman- Jackie
Humphrey Bogart- The Maltese Falcon, Casablanca, In a Lonely Place

Leo is the big one. Wolf Of Wall Street should've been in the bag. As much as I love The Revenant (my favorite film of that year), his performance was not his Oscar-winning moment.

Don Ameche for Cacoon is astounding. It's a fine performance but I can't think of a single Oscar-worthy moment in it.

This is a bit off topic, but I felt like Samuel L. Jackson deserved an Oscar nomination (at least) for his role in Django Unchained.

Also, though I don't know if it deserved an Oscar, I really liked Dustin Hoffman's performance in Hero.

Gary Oldman - Immortal Beloved and Sid and Nancy as well

As far as actors never nominated for performances that should've I'd pick Val Kilmer in Tombstone
