It also raised the expectation about the standard of movies that Bollywood can produce. Some movies in 2019 were exciting, fun, and out of the box. The latest Bollywood movies you catch up on are:

1) Ek Ladki Ko Dekha Toh Aisa Laga: It is a movie that experimented with a same-sex love story. The film stars Sonam Kapoor and Rajkumar Rao in lead roles. This coming-of-age movie was openly accepted by everyone and was a breather from the mundane love stories.

2) URI: The Surgical Strike: Based on the 2016 surgical strike conducted by the Indian Army, this was the first major motion picture that released in in 2019. Vicky Kaushal was highly rated for his role and supporting him were Mohit Raina and Yami Gautam. It was also a high-grossed movie.

3) Gully Boy: Zoya Akhtar delivered yet another blockbuster movie that starred Ranveer Singh in the lead role along with Alia Bhatt. Sharing the screen space with them was debutant Siddhanth Chaturvedi who also became popular soon after.

4) Kalank: Ever since the cast of Kalank was announced, it was the most anticipated movie of 2019. The film is a period drama which was conceptualised 15 years ago by Karan Johar’s father, Yash Johar.

5) Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi: This historical biopic has Kangana Ranaut in the lead role. The movie is based on the life of Rani Laxmi Bai. The film gained accolades for living up to the expectations.
