So far it's been a massive success, even while IMDb is still operational. I think once the IMDb boards are shut down, the FG Reddit should be well positioned as the go-to place for Film General's core of regulars to gravitate.

We've made some cosmetic improvements on Reddit's basic look by changing the page layout "theme", as well as adding some images to make it feel more like home.

We've also got 5 active moderators, and so far trolling has been kept to a bare minimum.

As sad I was to see IMDb's boards come to an end, perhaps it was a "blessing in disguise" so to speak. We finally have a board for genuine film discussion, free from the trolls. It's been awesome so far, and I'm looking forward to it continuing to grow after the 20th.

I would really feel more comfortable, if you could assure us that those who are in the habit of making consistently snarky and immaterial comments be prohibited from posting there.

And AndrewHNPX is there. You can't go wrong with that.

Yes, it's been a healthy and active space for film discussion. Because of this, the trolls resent it.

Cinema can fill in the empty spaces of your life and your loneliness.

The amount of threads created seems to stagnate a bit. I hope it will have much bigger activity once Imdb shuts down.

You mean like the Benman harassers and impersonators? Great idea, slick. 
