Who's letting me crash at their place if mine gets blown away?

I hate the way they name these things lol Matthew, who decides on the names? I suppose it's purely to identify one from the other. Hopefully it won't be too bad.

Each year, they have a set of names arranged and used alphabetically, retiring names for specifically devastating storms (i.e., Isabel from 2003, Ivan from 2004, and esp. Katrina from 2005) along the way. You're right, it's their method for identifying each storm from each other for a year and is, in my opinion, the best way of doing it. Lists tend to be reused after a certain amount of time has passed, omitting the retired names and replacing them with new names.
Btw, I believe 2005 was the first Atlantic storm season where they exhausted all names on their list and they had to start using the letters from the Greek alphabet, which get used in such an circumstance starting with Alpha, Beta, and so on and so forth.
Movin' to FUNKYTOWN!
I've heard they alternate female/male names as the run through the alphabet. Ex/ Andrew, Bernice, Charles, Denise, etc.

Well, what's the damage?

Yeah, there's this thing called Google. It has the answer to everything.
shareGoogle doesn't tell us if our Eric is okay though. I tried asking IS ERIC THE PELICAN SAFE? But this came up: https://res.cloudinary.com/powerreviews/image/upload/f_auto,w_1024,h_670/prod/nb6bucafk5wn2ndz7pfw.jpg
