I read a few times that The Wire's second season is strangely bad
Compared to the rest of the series. Is that so?
I'm only watching it after being bombarded by friends to watch the thing, but I also distinctively remember reading that Wire's season 2 is a bit odd/different not following the vibe of season 1, which I enjoyed, not immensely enjoyed, it's no Breaking Bad but it's entertaining enough, although the swearing in the early episodes of season 1 was so omnipresent it seemed like it was very much just a kind of "we're so edgy" thing. I'm just watching this as I am waiting for Rectify's final season and Better Call Saul's third season (which I expect there will be 4, Jonathan Banks at some point will look older than his character is in 2008 when we first see Mike in the last episode of season 2 of BrBa.
I watched the first 2 episodes of season 2 of the Wire...and yeah, it's not exactly exciting, although I know it picks up again in all three other seasons, apparently. It's not usual for a series not to get cancelled after a bad season, especially the second one.
Give this old lurker a thought and hello to all of imdb.
edit: Hmm..I wonder why my name is this gibberish which a part of my email address used here, my name in profile is a regular screename yet it is not used here.
