I promise to answer to every post.

two happy ending I can think of that I really love:

It's a wonderful life - yes, i know it's obvious but you can't without this.

now while I write, I can think about another one In America.

Apart from the discussion here, I hope you will participate in my upcoming poll about happy ending, all you need to do is pick your favorite ending (so far 5 users choose):

I always like it best when trilogies come to an end. 'Return of the Jedi' and 'Return of the King' both come to mind. We had gone through so much with those characters and it was great to see them finally win the wars they had been fighting for so long and get to live the rest of their lives out in peace (till 'Force Awakens' came along, of course...)

"We're not too old for this sh*t!" -Riggs and Murtaugh, 'Lethal Weapon 4' (1998)

I can't remember a musical that didn't end with happy ending, It is almost a requirement in this type of movies. My favorite musical happy ending is The Wizard of Oz and Singing in The Rain.

I didn't seen A Mighty Wind and I didn't remember very well the movie O Brother Where Art Thou? .

I probably one of the few that didn't watch 'Return of the Jedi' and I do not particularly care to fill the gap. I very disappointed with 'Return of the King' ending(s), so I didn't really care, I just wanted it's over already.

I agree it's fun to see the closure, mainly with characters you learn to love.

How to Steal a Million - Everybody has done something that's wrong/illegal and everybody gets away with it, and you know the will all do the same thing again. It's a cheeky ending. Personally I prefer that to a cloying sweet happy ending or, far worse, a preachy or inspirational happy ending.

Endings or ending credits?

If ending credits my 2 favs are
There's Something About Mary
Love the obvious lip-synching and everyone all happy and out of character.

Slumdog Millionaire
How else should you end a film about India if not doing a song and dance ala Bollywood movies. I especially like the fact that Danny Boyle (or is it the Indian Asst Director) somehow still does not make it a completely Bollywood song and dance, I don't know what he does.
