Good/ Great Movies You Can Only Watch Once

Movies are usually so good that you want to rewatch again, sometimes immediately. But sometimes, there are movies which you know is good after you watch, but is too strong or too depressing to be watched again soon.

Any movies come to mind?

Top of my head, for me are:

Room
Grave of the Fireflies
American History X

Nightcrawler for me.

Requiem for a Dream and Nightcrawler are films on my watchlist which I'll get to when I get the time to sit down. I read that Requiem is one of these possibly-watch-once-only movies, but thanks for the possible heads up on Nightcrawler.

Ya, the one on my watchlist that I am a bit intimidated by is A Clockwork Orange (1971). I am kinda guessing it will be in the watch once category for me, though I know I really need to experience it.

The Breakfast Club always seemed like one of those films you only need to watch once. Great movie though.

really?

i think that's got solid re-watch factor going for it. in fact, for me it's one of the very top movies of that teen themed type of movie.

movies that have no re-watch value are ultimately a Thumbs Down from me as truly good movies should be movies you want to re-watch from time to time as the years pass.

now this i doubt has happened for me.

but with that said... i can tell some movies work best on initial viewing but the thing is i generally know whether something is worth re-watching or not when i first see it and go from there.

basically...

-movies i re-watch cannot score below a 6/10 (Thumbs Up)
-movies i won't re-watch(or won't re-watch anymore) cannot score above a 5/10 (Thumbs Down)

A Clockwork Orange for me an example of a highly rated film which I have not really managed to finish because I could not see the point. Maybe it's just me so hope you enjoy it once you get round to watching it.

This has happened a few times for me. Movies which I know is good, but I can't rewatch.

This excludes movies which I know were just pointless or not worth rewatching.
