So, I saw a multipart documentary (8 parts? Can't remember.). It was pretty recent, but I had a lot going on and it's all a blur... Anyway, it did go through what every agency new (even before 9.11), but if I recall correctly, a lot of time is spent on 2 specific FBI agent's explaining their time hunting a couple of different terrorist all over the world and especially the one who actually planned the attacks (including a bunch of other attacks).
They mention how a group in England was involved, and how indoctrinated persons from that group, traveled to camps to get trained to become terrorists.
Hope someone knows which documentary series I am thinking about.
Thank's for the reply. I had already checked out about half of the documentaries on the list. Now I have checked the other ones and none of them seem to be right:
"9/11: One Day in America"
[Is a series, but doesn't focus on the hunt for the terrorists.]
"9/11: Inside the President's War Room"
[Is a movie and only focuses on George W. Bush.]
"Turning Point: 9/11 and the War on Terror"
[It is a series and I thought that this could be the right one. It turns out that I have seen it, but it isn't the one.]
"Spike Lee's NYC Epicenters 9/11➔2021½"
[This is a series, but is focused on survival in NYC, not specifically 9/11.]
"Ten Steps to Disaster: Twin Towers"
[Is a series, but only one episode is about 9/11, the rest i about other disasters.]
"Stories from the Stage: Changed Forever 9/11"
[This is a series, but only one episode is about 9/11.]
"Rebuilding Hope: The Children of 9/11"
[This is a movie about 4 children, that lost their fathers in 9/11.]
"Memory Box: Echoes of 9/11"
[This is also a movie.]
"Women of 9/11: A Special Edition of 20/20 with Robin Roberts"
[This is also not a series and only focuses on women.]
"Too Soon: Comedy After 9/11"
[This is a movie that focuses on comedy in the aftermath of 9/11.]
"No Responders Left Behind"
[This is a movie about a social activist that wanted to help first responders get health and compensation for the toxins that they were subjected to.]
"The 26th Street Garage: The FBI's Untold Story of 9/11"
[It is about FBI, but it is still a movie and focuses on one specific location.]
"9/11: The Legacy"
[Also a movie.]
"Rise and Fall: The World Trade Center"
[A movie that only focuses on the history of the buildings.]
"9/11: Four Flights"
[A movie that only focuses on the hijacked flights.]
"9/11: I Was There"
[A movie with recordings from different people that was there.]
While we are at it. I have also checked out these:
"Race Against Time: The CIA and 9/11"
"Manhunt: The Inside Story of the Hunt for Bin Laden"
"The Man Who Knew"
"The Looming Tower"
"Bin Laden: The Road to 9/11"
"Frontline: The Al Qaeda Files"
I have found more information. The former FBI agent Frank Pellegrino, that is mentioned in this article*, is probably one of the two that was talking in my documentary (the other one might be "John Anticev", also mentioned in the article). It also mention that he had never been on camera before he was in one episode of "Inside the FBI: New York" (S1E6 Ground Zero to Chelsea), which was released 2017-06-01.
In other words. My documentary series, must have been released later than that.
Weirdly, I found a podcast* produced by WNYCstudios, called "Blindspot". The first season is about 9/11 (Season 1: The Road to 9/11). And it's 8 episodes seems to go through pretty much the same content as the series that I am looking for. But I can not find any information that this have any connection to a video series.
