Teenage movie, Plimsouls/Paul Johnson style music, disco

I remember only very foggy memory from movie from 90's. I saw it at least 20 years ago and I'm sure that is made in USA.

My foggy memory is American singer. He has short hair and he wears dark sunglasses. He is singer on the stage and he sings very good song. It's specific lyrics are "No! No! No! No! (twice). There were at least two verses and chorus. I remember that crowd of young teenagers dances in a music club. The song is very similar (at least chorus) to Paul Johnson - Get Get Down.

Other possible clues: it is very unpopular song (because I listened this track only once in my life) it sounds like "The Plimsouls" music band.

It's unsolved mystery before many years. I am interested if it is possible to find :-)

I watched this movie only one in my life between 2002 and 2005.

Is the music being played contemporary 90s rock or is it a period movie that takes place in the 60s but came out in the 90s?

You mentioned the Plimsouls, and their music and look was often compared to 60s Brit rock and L.A. garage rock from that decade.

reply

I think that music was typical for late 80's or mid 90's, rock or pop music.

And how is your idea? Every guess is good.

I think about "Standing Still" (2005), because it contains similar song, so I will check this trope.

reply

Good idea.
And thanks for the late reply in the other thread. πŸ‘‹β€‹
