B&W Movie or TV Murder Myster/Thriller from the 40's or 50's

It ended with a woman's shadow moving at night across a rural landscape accompanied by eerie music. Everyone in the movie thought she was dead, but was she really?

Anyone?

I received two hits from the other forum (http://monsterkidclassichorrorforum.yuku.com/topic/66474/Re-UNKNOWN-40s50s-Horror-Movie?page=-1#.WO6i4FLMzow).

The first was for The Unknown (1946), and the other was for Carnival of Souls(1962).

Hope everything's going well for you, MovieManCin2!

I'll check those out, salzmank. Thanks!

Things are great here, how bout you?

Just fine, thanks!

I won't be able to post for about a week and change–going away for Easter–so if you don't hear from me, that's why.

By the way, Happy Easter to you and everyone else here!

(P.S. I should mention two more movies were recommended–The Woman who Came Back and The Amazing Mr. X.)

Thanks, salzmank!

And a Happy Easter to you and all the other posters! And have fun on your trip.

It's not Carnival of Souls

reply

I didn't think so either, but, hey, better to cover all the bases, right?

reply

That was my guess. I may check out the isle of the dead. The plot sounds interesting.

I'm back (if anyone's interested ;) )! I did indeed have a nice trip, MovieMan. By the way, did you get a chance to take a look at those recommendations?

reply

Welcome back. Glad to hear you had a nice trip. I checked all of them except The Unknown (1946). I couldn't find those on You Tube. They were excellent guesses, but no cigar. I'm going to keep looking. Thanks for your continuing help. Maybe someday we'll crack this case.

Someone on the Monster Kid Classic Forum just let me know that The Unknown ('46) will be on TCM on May 19, if you're interested.

I will set my DVR box to record that. Thanks, Salzmank! U da Man!!

reply

Of course, don't mention it!

By the way, it's nearly completely unrelated, but there's a picture on TCM streaming right now that I recommend if you or anyone else here likes '30s whodunits at all (as I do). It's called The Phantom of Crestwood, and I'm recommending it not only because I think it's a good picture but also because it's so incredibly rare.

reply

I'll check it out. Thanks.

😎

reply

Darn! I should have pointed out that it's only available on streaming till May 4. Sorry I didn't put that in there earlier.

reply

OK. No problemo.

Any news on this, MovieMan?

Again, a bump, just in case.

Cat People? That had a scene like that in it.

Nope, but thanks.

And I’m chiming in here again for this first time in a long while, so another bump.
